The Budweiser Clydesdales made their first-ever appearance on April 7, 1933. A gift from August A. Busch, Jr. and Adolphus Busch to their father in celebration of the repeal of Prohibition, the presentation of the original two six-horse hitches of champion Clydesdales moved father, sons and drivers to tears. The phrase “crying in your beer” was officially coined shortly thereafter. This is how they get ready for "work". This antique wagon dates back to 1983, and all it's parts are original. It's dusted and wiped down to it's undercarriage to make sure no dirt accumulates. It's also oiled regularly and given a full wax and paint touch up to maintain it's shine. In 1950, the Budweiser Clydesdales received their very own mascot: the Dalmatian. Traditionally used to guide horse-drawn fire carts, this spotted dog serves as friend and companion to the team, sitting aside the driver. To see if they are visiting near you, check out the hitch schedule. Can't get enough of these beauties? See more of them below. Don't forget to use #FOLLOWTHEHITCH when you post pictures of them.
Arrival in Honolulu Airport and transportation to Marriott Waikiki Beach PRO TIP #1: Use accumulated hotel points to score free hotel rooms, plane tickets, and even restaurant vouchers. PRO TIP #2: Choose a hotel that offers free breakfast buffet. Everything is expensive in Hawaii, and it's cheaper when you go out on a full stomach than head out early throwing money on restaurants when you can save it for dinner. We love that the beach is walking distance from almost everything, hotels, restaurants, and gift shops. They also have ABC gift shop in almost every street, they sell everything from souvenirs to plastic phone case for phone even orchid stems. There's a lot to visit in Hawaii aside from the beaches there's Pearl Harbor, North Shore, DOLE Farm, but this trip we chose Iolani Palace. BTW, the pictures above were taken while we're walking back to our hotel from Iolani Palace. It's a long walk but it's very beautiful, unpolluted, and will help you stay close to your weight when you left home. Nightlife starts early in Hawaii, and almost everything close early too. So stick to the happy hour schedule if you want to score good appetizer deals and drinks for dinner. Also, you might just get lucky and get this view.
Amelia Island is 40-45 minutes north east of Jacksonville depending on the traffic. It's a great place to visit if you just want to get away from the city. We didn't pay for anything when we drove by except for drinks and snacks. It is a perfect location for getting married too. Their beach is not saturated with tourists even during summer season. Here's a peek at Ritz Carlton's Amelia Island property, in case you decide to spend a few days with them.
